Hello, it's been a while.
As the 3DS's official Nintendo Network servers are down, there was little to no reason to keep my 2012 capture card 3DS in stock so I hacked it and I got to install a very cool Virtual Boy emulator known as Red Viper.
Today Red Viper has a 0.93 revision which plays back Virtual Boy games at the proper refresh rate 50hz.
I did a recording to test out and while the fps counter was going around high 49/low 50 fps. The output was still set to 60hz which means that there will be a freeze frame every after 6 frames.
So for example, frames: 1201 - 1207 - 1213 - 1219 - 1225 - 1231 - 1237 - 1243 - 1249 - 1255 - 1261 were duplicates from the previous frame.
Is it possible for an update to include lock 50fps on the fps slider limiter as Red Viper seems to be a very good emulator for the system to experience 3D without the infamous red palette strain.
Edit: Currently there is at least 1 workaround.
Use FRAPS to record the game instead as it supports 50hz output and checking back the recorded video frame by frame, it doesn't have the duplicate frame problem.

Interesting. Looks like the N3DS board will need an update, it doesn't like the modified timing.

Let me know if there's any other weirdness with this version. There's a lot of other changes under the hood, including an audio rewrite from over here.
