Computer doesn't recognize board anymore.
It was working fine the other day but now no matter what usb cable I use, my PC is no longer recognizing the board. Nothing comes up if I press f12 to access the debug prompt.
Re: Computer doesn't recognize board anymore.
Does your PC see it at all? (Does it make the USB connect sound?) Have you tried different USB ports on your computer?

No, I tried using different ports, different cables, but my PC didn't see it whatsoever.
Re: Computer doesn't recognize board anymore.
Some hardware issue then, maybe a damaged USB connector. I can repair / replace the board.

Hm, if it's the port, it's possible I could resolder it myself but since I already impulsively ordered a new board a day or so ago, it's probably best if I just send the first one back to you.

The new board is in place but while I'm thinking about it, is it common for it to make the underside of the system warm while plugged in/charging? Or is that an immediate concern?

That's actually normal!Elixir Alex wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 8:48 pmThe new board is in place but while I'm thinking about it, is it common for it to make the underside of the system warm while plugged in/charging? Or is that an immediate concern?

If you send the bad board back, I'll refund the other order.Elixir Alex wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 2:58 pmHm, if it's the port, it's possible I could resolder it myself but since I already impulsively ordered a new board a day or so ago, it's probably best if I just send the first one back to you.

I'll get the old board and new parts ready to send back then. I'll send an e-mail to info@3dscapture.com ask about details. If you send the bad board back, I'll refund the other order.
Okay, just wanting to make sure. What likely happened is that the port got damaged. I'm not too clean with a dremel but it feels solidly locked into place when the system is close.... another thing to note is that the back isn't quite flush, the board pushing out on it a little. That's actually normal!
