Hi,

I’m using an Optimize 3DS capture board on both Raspberry Pi 4 and Mac with cc3dsfs.

The video and audio output consistently stop at around 4 minutes and 30 seconds every time. Disconnecting and reconnecting the USB makes it work again for another 4.5 minutes.

The 3DS itself does not freeze and remains fully operational. It also seems that the USB connection is not completely lost.

Do you know what might be causing this consistent stoppage of output after a fixed period? Is there any known reason or recommended way to avoid this?

Thanks!

Hi, the issue is that there are multiple revisions of the Optimize boards, and I only support a relatively small subset of the newer ones for now. This is why I do not advertise it as a feature.

Support for more is planned, but I have no time estimates to give you. Refer to this Github issue: https://github.com/Lorenzooone/cc3dsfs/issues/21

If you want, you can help the process by sending me some data extracted via Wireshark over Discord, my handle over there is: lorenzooone

Hi there. Are there any plans for Katsukity support? I have an OG 3DS with one of their boards and I would love to use your app. The Katsukity app on Mac was seemingly never updated to allow for perfect pixel scaling, so it's incredibly hard to record at a halfway decent quality.

There are "plans", but current support is limited, due to the presence of multiple revisions. This is why I do not advertise it as a feature.

Like the post right before, I have no time estimates to give you. Refer to this Github issue: https://github.com/Lorenzooone/cc3dsfs/issues/21

I would rather keep this discussion separate from this forum and localized to Github, as it is off-topic here.

Hi, really thanks for your sharing. I have tried both the Windows 10 64-bit version and the Raspberry Pi version from your GitHub releases. In both cases, the software runs but does not detect or display my old 3DSXL with optimize's capture kit(LL-SPA3 Separate). just displaying: device not found
Could you please advise if this is a known issue or how to get it working? Thanks! I am very earger to obtain your assitance. much much appriciate :(

I tested the new nightly build with my old 3DS capture card. Now it can connect and display correctly, which solves the issue I had yesterday where the old version only showed a black screen. Thank you for that!

However, I noticed another problem: after running for about 4 minutes 40 seconds, the screen goes black again. When I press Disconnect and then Connect, a message appears in the top-left corner saying “previous device still not closing.” If I repeat the operation one more time, the screen lights up again.

So the connection works now, but the stability is not good enough because the display keeps turning black after a few minutes.
also If the software’s video setting is changed to RGB888, the screen got mess up. :(

Hey everyone!!

I was wondering if it was possible to operate 2 or more DS capture cards via CC3DSFS (on my Mac).

When I try to use more than one DS via this awesome software, it prompts me to select which capture card to have open from an initial list. Is it possible to see both open at the same time? With loopys software you just have to open multiple instances of the DE Capture app. I can’t seem to do that with CC3DSFS

Thank you!

Yes, you can!
The issue is just that macOS doesn't really like you opening multiple instances of the same application in general.

You need to open a console/terminal window in the folder where cc3dsfs is located and type something like:
open -n cc3dsfs.app
This should allow you to open multiple instances.
