Has anyone used ezladair to do a Controller Mod?

Post by Alucard » Fri Sep 19, 2025 8:55 pm

I was wondering if anyone shipped out their system to ezladair? Do they do good work, can I trust sending out my 3DS with a capture card to them to get the controller mod done?

Nope, I'm pretty sure this guy stole my console. I'm 3 weeks past his estimated delivery date and he doesn't reply to messages. He claims he shipped it but the tracking link provided says it's unshipped.

Edit -- He dropped it off at USPS the same day that I posted this. The mod works. Communication just isn't this guys strong suit. I'm not sure why he claimed he shipped it when he didn't. Also not sure why he takes days and sometimes weeks to respond to messages. Honest people are usually quick to reply even when there's hiccups/delays with their service. But in the end, I have my console and the mod works as intended. Overall I'm satisfied, but confused.

Edit — After using it for a day, this mod sucks. If the usb c chord isn’t perfectly angled, the controls break. It’s like how some people have to wrap their charger around their phones to make it charge. My circle pad is now broken even without the controller plugged in. I have to slap the console to get it working again. The controllers downward movement doesn’t register full tilt. He wants me to send it back in but I don’t trust him. Gonna take the L on this one

That really sucks. I didn't send it to him cause no one replied to this, but also I was moving, I was considering sending it to him after i moved but I won't now.

The only other option I know of is Hak/FingerCramp. He’s a good dude, and his work is super flashy/polished but its soooo expensive ($350 for the controller mod install plus a gamecube adapter). $200 more than ezladair. Is there anyone else who does the controller mod installs (and does a good clean job)?

Maybe someone could help with the issue I'm having since Its the reason I was looking into a controller mod in the first place. When I use input redirect, I constantly have the controller drop after about 10-20 minutes of use, and I have to reconnect the controller. I was using a spare laptop to host it wirelessly (Directly connected to the laptop Wifi signal not through router), and while it work really well when connected, the drop after prolonged use is the big issues.

Outside of that, any recommendations for a controller mod would be appreciated.

I’m so incredibly frustrated by this mod.

Here’s issue #1, the circle pad:

It happens with and without the controller, but it’s actually worse without it. With the controller plugged in, I can at least fiddle with the chord and get it to sit still in a functional position. When it happens without the controller, I basically have to slap the console around to fix it. And it happens ALOT. The console is borderline unplayable as a handheld now.

Issue # 2, full tilt not registering down and down-right:

This one is less annoying, but annoying enough when playing ORAS.

6 months later. I dusted off the console to give it a try, now in addition to the broken circle pad, the controller mod itself doesn't work.

Oh wow thats crazy sorry that happened to you. I was just messaging him about where he got the dongles for the ports from. I’m currently making the loopy controller mod myself as we speak im just waiting for some parts to arrive.
