DS broken upon arrival
So I sent in my DS at the end of May to have a capture card installed on it. It was shipped back on like the 5th of June and USPS took forever to get it to Canada. It only arrived last night (yes on a Sunday) whereas the other one I ordered at the same time showed up on June 5th. I got it out of the package and the latch connecting the top and bottom screens were broken, causing the screen to flop around on the top. There was also a chunk smashed out of the corner. The DS seems to be in working condition. I sent it out very much intact, as I cleaned it very thoroughly just before sending it. I have to assume it got bumped up in transit, but its still frustrating nonetheless. I'm not really sure what kind of procedure Loopy has for these kinds of issues, but hopefully something positive will come of this! Thanks for the help.

That stuff happens when you ship things back and forth. Sorry to see that happened. Not sure what he has in place for these things, but Replacement shells can be found on Ebay.

Thanks for the reply... I certainly feel better knowing that I only need a replacement shell. I'm not sure I trust myself attempting to replace it though lol thanks anyway!

Yeah. It happens. Something about the type of plastic in these, they can get really brittle with age and shatter.
I can replace it when I get another DS in.

Yeah, I understand. I was actually thinking of nabbing another cap card off you... if i send a replacement shell and the broken DS with my other DS (for the cap card to be installed on), would it be possible to transplant the broken one into the new shell? I know it's not a service you offer, but Im very willing to pay you more. I dont trust myself or really anyone else to do it considering you have so much experience with working with DS's, board installed an what not. Thanks!
