Hello ,

After months of being lazy I finally took the time to understand the 3DS game capture card situation. I finally learned who Loopy was and how he stopped making the 3DS GC ,well since I can’t buy a 3Ds GC without spending 1,000-2,500 US dollars I want to at least buy the original DS to play my old games, thank you in advance for anyone and everyone who reads the post , now for my questions:

I noticed it was still for sale, is it really in stock?

Does it play/record GBA games as well?

If I buy one that’s pre-modded is the condition of it good?

What skills do I need to know to be able to troubleshoot if something goes wrong with the hardware?

How good is the recording/display of the screen?

Should I buy 1 or 2 of them in case they go out of stock?

Why are the 3ds ones the price of a used car?

Yes. You have the option to choose between several ways of capture: one screen, two screens as two separate windows, or two screens combined into one window.

If I buy one that’s pre-modded is the condition of it good?

According to Loopy on the site: "The DS may show some wear but is in good working condition."

What skills do I need to know to be able to troubleshoot if something goes wrong with the hardware?

How good is the recording/display of the screen?

Really good, in my opinion! It won't upscale anything. You can check YouTube for footage of DS capture from Loopy devices, I'm sure.

Should I buy 1 or 2 of them in case they go out of stock?

They tend to be in stock, but it's up to what you want to do with them (such as having multiple systems for Pokemon trading, for instance). I imagine the board will last as long as the DS itself (which should be a good while as long as you take care of it, including replacing the battery when needed).

Why are the 3ds ones the price of a used car?

Supply-and-demand. If someone's willing to pay that much, people will try to sell it for that much. You can wait until Loopy has them on sale again from him. He used to sell the 3DS capture board (w/ installation) for $200.

They're hard to find in pristine condition nowadays. But the DSes I send will have:

- No cracked parts
- Minimal wear / scratches on the outside
- No scratched screens
- No stuck pixels
- Working touch screen
- Both cart slots working
- No 3rd party replacement shell (I hate these, they tend to have button that stick or don't feel right)

I saw you didn't have any DS 1st gen in stock so i purchased a lot of two on ebay, once received and they are both are working good i will ship both to you, should i purchase the installation now or wait till i have the two DS in my hands?

Hey loopy,

I just got the DS’s today, I’m going to purchase the the GC installment for the one that works perfectly . I know your not a repairman but only thing wrong With the other DS is it won’t charge, after some internet searching it has a blown Fuse, would you be able to fix it? If you could I’d pay for the fix as well as the installation of the GC. Please let me know if you could so I send them both or just return it to seller.
